$15. What happens to injured native Florida wildlife? Learn about their rehabilitation process at the Peace River Wildlife Center leading to their release back into the wild or their welcome into their “forever home” at the Center when not releasable. Share an interactive, informational experience with our permanent residents (hawks, eagles, owls, vultures, pelicans, cranes, shorebirds, songbirds, flying squirrels, raccoons and more). Learn how humans impact native wildlife populations. We will convene at the Center, 3400 Ponce de Leon Parkway, Punta Gorda to meet our tour guide. Class size is limited to 12 participants. The instructor will be by members of the Center who have decades of environmental experience with native Florida birds and mammals as well as with the Center. Florida documentarian Kristy Andersen presents Jump at the Sun, a documentary film on writer and queen of the Harlem Renaissance Zora Neale Hurston who grew up in Eatonville, Florida.
