Dancing with the Charlotte Stars 2012, the county’s most fun fundraiser, was a huge success again this year.
Jason Green, partnering with Nikki Blazekovic from Florida Dance Workshop, received the glitter ball plaque for Best Dancer. Jason’s routine was a combination of swing, hip hop, the worm and more.
Ralph Yankwitt won People’s Choice. Ralph and his red clad cheerleaders raised the most votes (dollars). His dance partner was Kathleen Candales of Higher Ground Performing Arts. Ralph used his dance to advocate for arts in the schools.
A big “Thank You” to all our Stars Jason, Ralph, Maralyn Belliveau, Donna Barrett, Stacy Jones, and Frank (James Bond) Desguin; their dance partners, cheerleaders, our judges Tricia Duffy, Kathy Grey, Ed Wotitsky, Todd Rebol and emcees Becky Bovell, Jeff Collins and Mike Riley.
The show would not have gone on without help of the three dance studios: Arthur Murray Dance Studio, Higher Ground and Florida Dance Workshop. They worked hard to choreograph and train our Stars.
DJ Jeff Michaels provided the music and Shawn Smith of Shawn and Company took care of the dancers’ hair.
Sponsors who’s generosity made this a truly successful fundraiser: The Farr Law Firm, the McCrory Law Firm, Weiler Engineering Corporation, Wilkins Frohlich, P.A., Buffalo Graffix, Millennium Physician Group and Maralyn’s Sun Country Décor and Fabrics.
Thanks also go to Bob Dickinson and his committee for all their hard work of the last ten months.
